Since we were back east, we couldn't pass up a trip to Virginia Beach to visit friends and give Pop and Bonbou the chance to take Mailee to the beach. It was a quick trip, but so much fun! Mailee especially loved finally meeting Quinn and getting to hang out w/ Gracie again. She told mommy that she wished she lived closer to her friends. :(

We had so much fun at VA Beach. Grandpa R and I were so happy to have a beach day with you and your Mom and visiting with your Dad for a few hours, and stay at Cape Henry Inn and Beach Club in Fort Story, VA.
Well, we started out late Saturday afternoon and we all got stuck in such horrific traffic that Aunt Liz, Uncle Fred and your cousin Liam had to turn around heading back to their home in DC. You and your Mom, Grandpa R and I finally got to our destination around 7:30pm that night. However, your Mom's friends Stacie and her husband Brent, and Kitty were so kind to have helped us having the BBQ that we intended to host. They made their best pasta salad, chips and bean dip, and buttermilk pie which went very well with the chicken, pork ribs and sausage that we brought along in the cooler.
The next morning we cooked a big breakfast with steak and eggs, etc. at our lodge for your Dad and Mom, Grandpa R and me. We then went to the nice beach front with Stacie and her baby Quinn. Kitty graciously hosted us that evening after we went to this nice seafood restaurant as VA Beach is known for its freshest seafood - we just could not miss that opportunity. We just wished that Aunt Liz, Uncle Fred and your cousin Liam could be there with us also.
Also, it was very nice to meet Stacie's and Kitty's beautiful babies Quinn and Gracie. They were so adorable and gracious just like their moms. You all played very well together which made me think how wonderful it will be if you all may later become best friends too.
Grandpa R and I are looking forward to spending some time on the beach with Aunt Liz, Uncle Fred and your cousin Liam at Bethany Beach as the Langleys were so kind inviting us to their lovely beach home. It will be an exciting trip just as the VA beach trip had turned out to be a really nice one despite that traffic jam.

I agree . . . Stace's was so much sweeter and sentimental. Kind of like my birthday one from last year . . . HA!!
Speaking fo which . . . G and I get no birthday shout out??? She says she isn't speaking to you anymore!
